Silicon Labs Mobile Apps#

Silicon Labs provides two primary mobile apps: Simplicity Connect and Bluetooth Mesh. Throughout this documentation set, our primary focus is on Simplicity Connect. Here, you can access Release Notes, Demos, and Reference Guides, ensuring seamless integration and optimal utilization of our products.

Simplicity Connect#

Simplicity Connect is a generic Bluetooth LE mobile app that expedites embedded Bluetooth application development.

With Simplicity Connect, you can test and debug the Bluetooth applications and Over-The-Air Direct Firmware Update (OTA DFU) during embedded development. Troubleshooting is a breeze – the Scanner, Advertiser, Configurator, and Logging features help you fix bugs in no time. For an in-depth analysis, use Silicon Labs’ Network Analyzer (installed with Simplicity Studio) to see the collected packet trace data.

Now you can test Matter devices from the Simplicity Connect app. You can use Matter devices over Thread or Wi-Fi and control it. The Matter demos that Simplicity Connect supports are Light, Door Lock, Window, Sensor, Thermostats, and Plug.

The out-of-the-box demos provided with the Silicon Labs Bluetooth SDK get you up to speed with Simplicity Connect and with the entire Silicon Labs development tools ecosystem.

Simplicity Connect works with all Silicon Labs Bluetooth development kits, EFR32 SoCs, and modules.

Bluetooth Mesh#

Our Bluetooth Mesh mobile application and stack libraries for Android and iOS allow developers to set up Bluetooth Mesh networks, provision and configure nodes, and control the nodes with lighting mesh models.
