Fundamentals#
These fundamentals guides provide background on Bluetooth Direction Finding and also Bluetooth LE. Bluetooth 5.1 introduced support for Direction Finding by adding the option to send and receive Constant Tone Extensions (CTEs) after Bluetooth packets. This makes it possible to do phase measurements on antenna arrays and ultimately to determine the direction of an incoming signal. To understand how CTE works, you should also understand the basics of Bluetooth LE.
Bluetooth Direction Finding Fundamentals: Explains the basics of Bluetooth Angle of Arrival (AoA) and Angle of Departure (AoD) and provides the theory behind estimating angle of arrival.
Bluetooth LE Fundamentals: Offers an overview for those new to the Bluetooth low energy technology.
