Analysis Tools Overview#

Simplicity Studio 6 includes tools to support development. Access them by selecting TOOLS in the left navigation bar.

Simplicity Device Manager#

Device Manager centralizes hardware management. Use it to connect, manage, and configure devices.

Simplicity Commander#

Commander provides GUI and command-line access to debug features for EFM32 and SiWx91x devices. Use it to flash firmware, update kits, and manage debug access.

AoA Analyzer#

AoA Analyzer is a 3D tool for testing Angle of Arrival (AoA) with one locator and multiple tags. Configure locators, view tag directions in 3D, analyze real-time streams, and record IQ samples for post-processing.

AoA Viewer#

AoA Viewer is a 3D tool for reviewing AoA data. Configure locators, view tag directions in 3D, analyze recorded streams, and record IQ samples for post-processing.

Bluetooth NCP Commander#

Bluetooth NCP Commander lets you send BGAPI commands to NCP targets. Use the GUI to control BLE or Bluetooth Mesh, learn the API, send commands, manage GATT databases, and provision mesh devices.

Channel Sounding Analyzer#

Channel Sounding Analyzer estimates distance and analyzes data for Bluetooth devices. It connects to Initiator and Reflector devices and provides charts and real-time tracking.

Energy Profiler#

Energy Profiler visualizes device energy use. It shows real-time current consumption correlated with program counters, helping optimize power performance. Use it with single devices, multi-device systems, or wireless networks.

Network Analyzer#

Network Analyzer debugs wireless systems by capturing and displaying network activity. It provides detailed packet data from Silicon Labs’ chips without software overhead, using PTI-enabled platforms without requiring a sniffer device.

Positioning Tool#

Positioning Tool supports Bluetooth Direction Finding and Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLS). Configure multi-locator setups, create topologies, and visualize tag positions in 3D.

Wi-Fi Commander#

Wi-Fi Commander manages and analyzes Wi-Fi networks in real time. Use it to scan access points, monitor traffic, control Wi-Fi targets, test SDK APIs, and run common Wi-Fi commands.

Wi-Fi Memory Calculator#

Wi-Fi Memory Calculator estimates memory use for Wi-Fi applications. Use it to plan allocation and optimize performance.
