Installer 1.0.0#

  • Restricted Access Support: Early Access and Controlled Access installations are not supported in this release.

  • Studio shortcut (*): Studio launch shortcut is only available on the desktop.

  • Installation path (*): The installation path for the Package Manager cannot be customized by the user.

  • Installer version information: The Simplicity Installer does not include an About menu or version information in the UI that displays the Studio version on Windows.

    • Workaround: On Windows, locate the SimplicityInstaller.exe file on your system (C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Local\Programs\SimplicityInstaller). Right-click the file, select Properties, and go to the Details tab for the version number.

    • Workaround: On Linux, you can run the following command: apt show simplicityinstaller

Studio 6.0.0#

  • Project Generator: An HTTP 404 error may appear in the Project Configuration step of the new project wizard when generating a project.

    • Workaround: Close the new project wizard window and retry the operation.

  • Device Selector dialog: Limited filtering functionality by protocol.

  • Matter Provisioning Tool: Not available in this release.

  • IAR project generator: Not available from the new project wizard view.

  • Multiple instance Support (*): Running multiple instances of the same version of Studio simultaneously is not supported.

  • Software updates (*): The Studio UI does not include an Updates indicator.

    • Workaround: Open Package Manager from the Simplicity Installer to check for updates.

  • Bug report (*): No Bug Report option is available.

  • Adapter FW Update: The Device Overview UI may not indicate that Adapter FW version 2.0.0 is available for the connected board.

    • Recommendation: Open Device Manager to manually check for and apply the firmware update. Or close and reopen the Device tab.

  • Windows BSOD with Older Adapter FW: When using Adapter Firmware versions earlier than v2.0.0 may cause a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on Windows.

    • Recommendation: Update your development board to Adapter Firmware v2.0.0 or later, which uses the Microsoft winUSB driver.

  • Studio version information: Simplicity Studio does not include an About menu or version information in the UI that displays the Studio version.

    • Workaround: Open Package Manager and view the installed Studio version displayed.

  • Pintool: The Pintool does not function correctly if the project path contains spaces.

    • Workaround: Avoid using spaces in the project path or project name or else use the component editor for pin configuration.

SDKs#

  • Matter: On Windows, Matter projects fail to build due to a known issue with GCC response files and the operating system's command string length limit.

    • Workaround: When creating a new project, use shorter solution and project names and use a shorter directory path for the project location.

  • SixG301: The SixG301 devices are supported only with CMake/GCC. (IAR is not supported.)

    • Workaround: Refer to the Known Issues and Limitations section for additional details.
