This document describes the host processor application development using the serial API interface.

Terms#

This document describes mandatory and optional aspects of the required compliance of a Z-Wave product to the Z-Wave standard.

The guidelines outlined in IETF RFC 2119 [1] with respect to keywords used to indicate requirement levels are followed. Essentially, the keywords "MUST", "MUST NOT", "REQUIRED", "SHALL", "SHALL NOT", "SHOULD", "SHOULD NOT", "RECOMMENDED", "MAY", and "OPTIONAL" in this document are to be interpreted as described in RFC 2119.
