Developing with Silicon Labs Zigbee#
Zigbee is an open standard for reliable, cost-effective, low power, wireless device-to-device communication. Silicon Labs is the vendor of choice for OEMs developing Zigbee networking into their products. The Silicon Labs 802.15.4 platform is the most integrated, complete and feature-rich solution available for Zigbee. It includes a family of Wireless Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), based on Arm® Cortex® processor and 2.4 GHz transceiver, together with the most reliable, scalable and advanced software supported by best-in-class development tools.
The Silicon Labs Zigbee networking protocol stack (formerly called EmberZNet PRO, now usually Zigbee EmberZNet) is a complete Zigbee protocol software package containing all the elements required for robust and reliable mesh networking applications on Silicon Labs' devices. The Zigbee EmberZNet stack provides professional grade networking for the most challenging applications such as Smart Energy / Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Home Automation, Home Security, Smart Lighting and Building Automation systems.
