Silicon Labs Mobile Apps#

Silicon Labs provides two primary mobile apps: Simplicity Connect and Bluetooth Mesh. This documentation focuses primarily on Simplicity Connect and provides release notes, demos, and reference guides.

Simplicity Connect#

Simplicity Connect is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mobile app for developing, testing, and debugging embedded Bluetooth applications.

With Simplicity Connect, you can test and debug Bluetooth applications and perform Over-the-Air Device Firmware Updates (OTA DFU) during development. The Scanner, Advertiser, Configurator, and Logging features provide tools for testing and troubleshooting Bluetooth applications. For more detailed analysis, use Silicon Labs Network Analyzer, installed with Simplicity Studio, to analyze captured packet trace data.

You can also use Simplicity Connect to commission, test, and control Matter devices over Thread or Wi-Fi. The app supports demos for various Matter device types, including Light, Door Lock, Window, Sensor, Thermostat, and Plug.

The out-of-the-box demos provided with the Silicon Labs Bluetooth SDK help you get started with Simplicity Connect and the Silicon Labs development tools ecosystem.

Simplicity Connect works with Silicon Labs Bluetooth development kits, EFR32 SoCs, and modules.

Bluetooth Mesh#

The Silicon Labs Bluetooth Mesh mobile app and stack libraries for Android and iOS allow you to set up Bluetooth Mesh networks, provision and configure nodes, and control nodes using lighting mesh models.
