Known Bugs and Limitations#

Studio UI#

  • Device Selector Dialog: Limited filtering functionality by protocol.

  • Adapter FW Update: The Device Overview UI does not indicate that Adapter FW version 2.0.0 is available for the connected board.

    • Recommendation: Open Device Manager to manually check for and apply the firmware update.

Tools#

  • Device Manager

    • Capture functionality may not work as expected under certain conditions.

  • Windows BSOD with Older Adapter FW

    • Issue: A known issue can cause a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on Windows when using Simplicity Studio v6 or v5 with development boards running Adapter Firmware versions earlier than v2.0.0.

    • Recommendation: Update your development board to Adapter Firmware v2.0.0 or later, which is based on winUSB driver, to avoid this issue.

SDKs#

  • Amazon Sidewalk

    • Issue: Sample app project generation fails on Ubuntu 22.04.

    • Workaround: None currently available.

  • Z-Wave

    • Issue: Sample app project builds fail on all supported operating systems.

    • Workaround: Under investigation. Refer to the Z-Wave SDK release notes for updates.

  • Matter

    • Issue: Sample app project builds on Windows may fail due to excessively long path names (Windows MAX_PATH limitations).

    • Workaround: Use a shorter project directory path.
