Features Not Yet Implemented#
These features are currently under development or planned but not yet available in this Beta release.
Installer#
Restricted Access Support: Early Access and Controlled Access installation flows not yet supported.
Local SDK Extension Install: Manual installation of local SDK extensions is not currently available.
Standard OS Uninstall Support: Full uninstallation using native OS methods is not yet implemented.
Studio#
Multiple Instance Support: Running multiple instances of Studio simultaneously is not supported.
Ubuntu 24.04 Support: This OS version is not officially supported.
Matter Provisioning Tool: Not yet available in the current release.
Tools#
Tool Shortcuts Outside Studio: No standalone launcher shortcuts available for tools like Network Analyzer, Energy Profiler, etc.
Features Implemented but Not Fully Tested#

Known Bugs and Limitations#
Studio UI#
Device Selector Dialog: Limited filtering functionality by protocol.
Learn & Support: The User Guide link under Learn & Support incorrectly directs users to the Simplicity Studio v5 User Guide instead of the correct v6 User Guide.
Adapter FW Update: The Device Overview UI does not indicate that Adapter FW version 2.0.0 is available for the connected board.
Recommendation: Open Device Manager to manually check for and apply the firmware update.
Tools#
Device Manager
Capture functionality may not work as expected under certain conditions.
Windows BSOD with Older Adapter FW
Issue: A known issue can cause a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on Windows when using Simplicity Studio v6 or v5 with development boards running Adapter Firmware versions earlier than v2.0.0.
Recommendation: Update your development board to Adapter Firmware v2.0.0 or later, which is based on winUSB driver, to avoid this issue.
SDKs#
Amazon Sidewalk
Issue: Sample app project generation fails on Ubuntu 22.04.
Workaround: None currently available.
Z-Wave
Issue: Sample app project builds fail on all supported operating systems.
Workaround: Under investigation. Refer to the Z-Wave SDK release notes for updates.
Matter
Issue: Sample app project builds on Windows may fail due to excessively long path names (Windows MAX_PATH limitations).
Workaround: Use a shorter project directory path.
