Getting Started with the WiSeConnect™ SDK v3.x#
To get started with using the WiSeConnect™ SDK v3.x, download the latest version of Simplicity Studio and select one of the getting started guides in this section:
System-on-chip (SoC) mode - both the application and connectivity stack run on the SiWx91x™ chipset.
To run the out-of-the-box demo, see the Starting with SoC Mode section.
To set up software and hardware, create a project, configure and compile an application, and run an application, see one of the following guides:
Developing with ICs (with custom boards)
Network co-processor (NCP) mode - application runs on external microcontroller unit (MCU) host, connectivity stack runs on the SiWx91x chipset.
To get started with an EFR32™ host, see the Starting with EFR32 in NCP Mode section.
To get started with an STM32™ host, see the Starting with STM32 in NCP Mode section.
To begin development for any other host, see the Porting for an External Host section.
Note: The following alternative interfaces are supported between the SiWx91x chipset and the EFR32 host:
Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI)
Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter (UART) interface
Radio co-processor (RCP) mode - application and upper Wi-Fi network layers (transport and network) run on external Linux host, lower Wi-Fi network layers (MAC and PHY) run on the SiWx91x chipset. A Linux driver is available for connecting a Linux host to Wi-Fi in this mode using the SiWx91x connectivity stack.
Note: The WiSeConnect SDK v3.x does not support the RCP mode.
