Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Coexistence for SiWx91x#
SiWx91x supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Since the two protocols share a medium, the following configurations are recommended to ensure maximum robustness.
Bluetooth#
Scanning#
While a Wi-Fi connection is active, it is recommended that the Bluetooth scan window is set to 1/3 or 1/4 of the scan interval.
Advertising#
All standard advertising intervals are supported. When three or more BLE connections are active, the radio scheduler must already serve multiple periodic connection events, often in the 30-45 ms interval range. Using a longer advertising interval reduces advertising airtime demand, lowers the probability of repeated collisions with ongoing BLE connection events and Wi-Fi activity, and improves the likelihood of stable connectivity. Advertising intervals above 200 ms are generally expected to provide good coexistence behavior under concurrent Wi-Fi + BLE activity.
As Wi-Fi throughput increases, the interval between transmitted advertisements might differ slightly from the configured interval. If an advertisement collides with Wi-Fi activity, it is skipped.
Connection#
Use a high supervision timeout in the presence of Wi-Fi activity.
Wi-Fi#
Wi-Fi traffic takes priority over Bluetooth traffic in the radio scheduler.
