Overview#

Silicon Labs Simplicity Connect is a mobile app for testing and debugging Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) applications. It helps developers create and troubleshoot BLE applications running on Silicon Labs development boards. With Simplicity Connect, you can test and troubleshoot BLE embedded application code, Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates, data throughput, interoperability, and many other features using Android and iOS mobile devices. You can use Simplicity Connect with all Silicon Labs Bluetooth development kits, System-on-Chips (SoCs), and modules.

This application has five main functional areas:

• Scan

• Configure

• Test

• Settings

• Demo

By default, the app opens in the Scan view. Use the bottom tab bar to switch between views.

The Simplicity Connect mobile application source code for both iOS and Android is available on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license.

This document applies to version 3.3.1 of both the iOS and Android apps. Because the apps have the same UI for most features, the screenshots show the Android app. Platform-specific UI differences are described where applicable.
