BLE Developer Guide#

This guide describes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) capabilities and usage on the SiWx917 Network Processor (NWP) with the WiSeConnect SDK: GAP and GATT procedures, security (SMP), operating modes, and links to the official BLE API documentation.

Audience#

Integrators and application developers who implement BLE on the SiWx917 NWP using the WiSeConnect SDK (GAP, GATT, SMP, and host–NWP integration for NCP, RCP, or SoC/ACP).

Prerequisites#

  • WiSeConnect SDK 4.0 or later (see the SDK note under Overview).

  • Platform: SiWx917 with the NWP used for BLE; operating mode (NCP, RCP, or SoC/ACP) per your product design. See Processing modes.

  • Background: Familiarity with BLE roles and profiles at the level of the Bluetooth Core Specification or equivalent introductory material. Stack setup, limits, and callbacks are covered in BLE initialization and configuration.

Overview#

The SiWx917 Network Processor (NWP) provides a comprehensive Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) implementation through the WiSeConnect SDK. The BLE stack is Bluetooth 5.4-compliant and supports multiple concurrent roles, enabling flexible application development for embedded systems.

Note: As of January 2026, WiSeConnect SDK 4.0 is the current version. Examples and APIs in this guide assume WiSeConnect SDK 4.0 or later unless a page states otherwise.
