Prerequisites#

Before you set up and evaluate the PTA 3-wire mechanism with the SiWG917 system, make sure you meet the following prerequisites. These requirements include essential components, tools, and environments required for both the PTA Main and PTA Secondary configurations. Meeting these prerequisites ensures proper functionality, accurate testing, and reliable system performance.

Hardware Specifications#

• PTA Main

  • SiWG917 Pro Kit SiWG917-PK6031A (4338A)

  • BRD4002A - Si-MB4002A Wireless Pro Kit Mainboard

• PTA Secondary

  • Two EFR32MG21 Host MCU (EFR32MG21 Zigbee Starter Kit for Z3Light and Z3Switch demo)

• Micro USB Cable

  • For powering SiWG917 device

• Windows PC

• Linux PC (for running Server)

  • To run SiWG917SiWG917 Throughput Example

• Access Point

  • Used only for Wi-Fi throughput runs on the PTA Main

• Saleae Logic Analyzer

  • Used to monitor the Grant, Request, and Priority signals

• Female-to-female connectors

• Splitters or Y-connectors

  • Connection between Saleae analyzer and PTA Secondary

  • These splitters are connected to the PTA Main to analyze the Grant, Request, and Priority Signals.

Software Specifications#

• PTA Main

  • WiSeConnect 3 SDK (latest software release for SiWG917)

  • GNU ARM v12.2.1

    • Used with WiSeConnect SDK

  • Docklight/Tera Term (for application logs)

• PTA Secondary

  • EFR32 – SiSDK Suite v2024.12.0

• Logic 2 analyzer Tool

  • v2.3.58, use with Saleae Logic Analyzer

• Simplicity Studio IDE

Note:

• Refer to Update the SiWx91x Connectivity Firmware to load the firmware into the SiW91x device. The firmware binary is found in the <Release_Package>/connectivity_firmware folder.

• Use Gecko SDK suite 4.3.2 to validate the Zigbee throughput and packet transmission timing on the PTA Secondary device.
