Wi-Fi Demos#

This section describes how to get started with Wi-Fi development for iOS and Android smartphones, including:

  • Wi-Fi OTA firmware update demo, which demonstrates how to update the SiWx91x user application firmware over a Wi-Fi connection by downloading the image from a mobile phone.

  • Wi-Fi 917 Sensor demo, which collects and processes sensor data from the SiWG917 Dev Kit, transmits the data over a Wi-Fi network, and displays it in the Simplicity Connect iOS/Android application. For more information, seeSiWG917 Dev Kit on the Silicon Labs GitHub site.

  • Wi-Fi Throughput demo, which indicates how much data can be transmitted over a Wi-Fi connection within a given time. This demo supports both upload and download operations for TCP, UDP, and TLS.

  • Wi-Fi Provisioning demo, which demonstrates the provisioning of SiWx917 over Wi-Fi.

  • AWS IoT cloud demo, which displays sensor data from the SiWx91x Dev Kit, which features built-in sensors. In this demo, the SiWx91x Dev Kit and the mobile application connect to the same access point and then establish a secure connection to AWS IoT. After a successful connection, the application collects and processes sensor data and displays it on the mobile dashboard. Additionally, you can control the LED on the Dev Kit by selecting a button in the mobile application.

  • Smart Lock demo, which demonstrates how to control a smart lock using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The SiWx91x Development Kit (Dev Kit) functions as the smart lock device. You can control the smart lock locally through BLE or remotely through AWS.
